年少时，举止得当；as a child, one should behave properly;
年轻时，学会自制；as an adolescent, one should learn self-restraint;
中年时，正义行事；in middle-age, one should be just;
年老时，良言善导；in old-age, one should guide others with godness;
临终时，死而无憾。at the end of life, one shall die without regrets.
教育人民的格言，体现了希腊生活的理念。现在来看也非常具有价值和实际意义的箴言。
